What this covers

Most drywall calls in the Valley are one of five things: a doorknob hole, an anchor hole left by a mount, a stress crack over a door, a ceiling stain after an AC or roof leak, or a hole cut open so a plumber could reach a pipe. All of it is patch, texture and paint work. If you are working out whether a crack is cosmetic, the repair note on reading cracks in a Phoenix house walks through it.

How pricing works
Priced per patch

quoted flat from your photos and description, before anyone starts

Compound has to dry, so larger patches are usually a short second visit to sand, texture and paint. That is one job and one price, not two service calls.

Referred out, not attempted

A leak that is still active, mold remediation and full ceiling replacement go to a licensed remediation or drywall contractor. You will be told that at the quote, not on the day.

Insider tip

Ask for the “while you’re here” rate. Adding a second small job to a visit is almost always cheaper than booking a separate call for it.

Drywall repair questions

Can you match my texture?

Knockdown and orange peel, the two textures on most Phoenix homes, are matched by hand and feathered well past the patch edge. Level 5 smooth walls and heavy hand textures are matched as closely as a trowel allows, and if a full wall skim is the honest answer you will hear it before work starts.

Do you paint after patching?

Yes, if you want the wall finished rather than just filled. Using the leftover paint in your garage is the cleanest match. If there is none, a color match from a chip or a cut sample is quoted with the job.

How long does a drywall repair take?

Small holes with quick-set compound finish in one visit. Anything wider than a dinner plate, or a ceiling, usually needs a dry-and-return so the texture and paint sit right.

There is a stain on my ceiling. Can you just cover it?

Only once whatever caused it is fixed and dry. Painting over a live leak hides it for about a month. If the source is not obvious, the honest first call is a roofer or an AC tech.
